Infrastructure EngineerPrincipal1 position

Why This Role is Different

Frontier Development Role

You will build the trust‑engine that turns the debate into a compliant, auditable system. From hash‑chain logs to HITL orchestration, you’ll make sure every decision can be traced and verified.

The Frontier Element

This role pioneers a runtime, agent‑centric provenance framework that satisfies ISO/IEC 23894 and the EU AI Act—an architectural property that has never been realized in multi‑agent AI systems.

Research Area

Transparent Provenance and Regulatory Compliance Layer

From: Hallucination Amplification in Multi‑Agent Debate

Why This Role is Critical

HEAD must satisfy emerging AI governance standards (ISO/IEC 23894, EU AI Act) by providing immutable, cryptographically verifiable audit trails and HITL hooks. This requires a deep blend of secure systems, blockchain, and policy enforcement.

What You Will Build

A runtime provenance engine that logs every claim, evidence source, and argumentative step with hash chains, integrates HITL interrupt signals, and exposes a compliance API for regulators.

🛠

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement cryptographic hash‑chain logging for every debate step, ensuring tamper‑evidence and auditability.
  • Build a blockchain‑anchored AIBOM that records model versions, training data, and third‑party components.
  • Develop HITL interrupt hooks that allow human experts to pause, inject evidence, or override decisions in real time.
  • Create a policy engine that enforces runtime compliance rules (e.g., confidence thresholds, data‑handling constraints).
  • Lead the integration of ISO/IEC 23894, NIST RMF, and EU AI Act requirements into the system’s architecture and documentation.
🎯

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Must-Haves

Cryptographic primitives and hash‑chain design

Expert
Ensuring immutable, tamper‑evident logs for every debate action.

Blockchain integration (Ethereum, Hyperledger, or custom chains)

Advanced
Anchoring provenance data to a public or permissioned ledger for regulatory audit.

Secure logging and audit‑trail systems (ELK, Loki, Splunk)

Expert
Collecting, storing, and querying provenance data at scale.

Compliance frameworks (ISO/IEC 23894, ISO/IEC 42001, EU AI Act)

Advanced
Translating policy into enforceable runtime controls.

Distributed systems and microservices architecture

Expert
Deploying the provenance engine as a fault‑tolerant, low‑latency service.

Experience Requirements

  • 10+ years in secure systems, AI governance, or compliance engineering.
  • Hands‑on experience building audit‑ready AI systems that meet ISO/IEC 23894 or similar standards.
  • Track record of integrating blockchain or cryptographic logging into production pipelines.

Education

PhD or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with ISO/IEC 42001 or ISO/IEC 23894 implementation in AI products.
  • Knowledge of HITL frameworks used in medical or legal AI systems.
  • Familiarity with runtime policy engines (OPA, Open Policy Agent).
🤝

You Will Thrive Here If...

  • Obsessive about traceability and auditability in every line of code.
  • Comfortable navigating regulatory ambiguity while delivering production systems.
  • Strong advocate for transparency and ethical AI practices.
📈

Impact & Growth

12-Month Impact

By 12 months, deliver a fully auditable, HITL‑enabled debate system that satisfies ISO/IEC 23894 and EU AI Act requirements, enabling the company to launch in regulated medical and policy domains without additional compliance overhead.

Growth Opportunity

Scale the provenance architecture across the entire product portfolio, becoming the lead architect for AI governance and compliance in a frontier AI company.
